Paediatric Rehabilitation Therapy

Paediatric Rehabilitation therapy (PRT) provides a combination of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services to children and young people. Assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment (direct and indirect) are provided for children with physical disabilities/neurological impairment, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, Sensory Processing difficulties, Arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders.

The PRT service provides a range of remedial activities to enable children to achieve their maximum physical, psychological and social functional potential. Therapists identify requirement for special equipment/aids to daily living.

The services implemented work in partnership with families using a family centred approach. The parents are sensitized upon the goals of the therapy and also guided as to how they can boost the work of the therapist by conducting certain activities at home with the child.
