PARENTS ARE INTEGRAL PART OF SUCCESS
Parents play an important role in the success of children. Their understanding, commitment and support are essential ingredients of a child’s education, and schools benefit tremendously from the active involvement of parents, grandparents, and the extended families.
Educators and other professionals within the system are a valuable resource. Parent’s inputs are valuable because they spend a larger part of the day with the children; they know, observe experience and understand.
Parents usually have many questions and concerns regarding their child’s development and care — questions which they may sometimes be hesitant to ask. Please remember… you have a right to know about your child. It is in the best interest for your child to feel comfortable with professionals and request any kind of support you need.
Parent’s support will ensure that the strategies being implemented in the school are being complemented by activities at home. Consistency is a key element in the success of children with special needs. Perhaps most importantly, full and active participation by parents, other family members, as well as teachers and learning specialists, will reassure the child that he or she is a unique, special, and cherished individual.
A big change always begins with a small step……….
So we have taken initiative to form Parent Support Groups
A Parent Support Group is a place where you can come to talk about your experiences and gain feedback without being judged or criticized. The group can help you to develop positive parenting solutions in a respectful environment.
- These support groups are an enormous way for parents facing similar, challenging situations in life to offer each other help, encouragement, share ideas, and generally reduce the stress of a trying time.
- The help may take in the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks.

Sankalp is dedicated to help parents find practical and positive ways to deal with their situation in more effective ways with the support of a trained professional.

This support group will be helpful to you to:
- Get brainstorming ideas for how to respond to a difficult situation.
- Gain a sense of hope from parents whose children are making progress.
- Carve out a time to sort out your thoughts about your concern and make plans to take positive action.
